2006.11.07 Can you see Europe?

This was my first view of Europe. The butterflies were working hard in my stomach. What to expect when I land. What will I do and how will I do it? Or better yet, how will I communicate? First stop is Paris. Landing at 11:30am I figured would be a good thing.

I left the airport around 2pm on the train. That took a little effort. Nearly all things in the area were written in French (Signs) I was not certain where to go. But once I talked to a few people I was on the train for the first time in a foreign land. My first stop (I was hoping that it would be easy enough to figure out how to get off the train at the right place) was Saint Michaels, Notre Dame.

After about eight stops I was reading the train system maps pretty good (I was thinking and hoping). I was there. First sight as I came up from the train/subway system was Notre Dame in its larger than life self. I stood there in front for about fifteen minutes. Posted by Picasa
